OUR core beliefs

Foundations of Our Faith

At Life Valley Community Church, we are committed to following Jesus Christ and living according to God’s Word. Our beliefs define who we are as a church, guide our faith, and shape the way we serve our community.

I. The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word, fully inspired and without error in its original manuscripts. Written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and preserved through time, it holds supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

(Exodus 24:7; Psalm 119; Matthew 4:4; 1 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

II. The Trinity

We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in divine perfection, executing distinct yet harmonious roles in creation, providence, and redemption.

(Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19-20; John 16:7-15; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

III. God the Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He mercifully involves Himself in the lives of all, hears and answers prayer, and saves all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

(Genesis 1:1; Psalm 139:7-10; Isaiah 46:9; Romans 11:33; Ephesians 4:6; 1 Timothy 1:17; Revelation 19:6)

IV. Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We affirm His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, teachings, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension, intercession for His people, and His personal, visible return.

(John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Timothy 6:14-16; Titus 2:13-14)

V. Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, regenerate, sanctify, and empower believers. He indwells every believer and distributes spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church and ministry.

(Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 4:18-19; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 6:19; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:22-25; Ephesians 5:18)

VI. Salvation

We're not here just for ourselves. We're called to take the love, hope, and truth of Jesus beyond our walls and into our neighborhoods, workplaces, and world. The mission field isn't just "out there"—it's right here in Silicon Valley.

VII. The Church

We believe in the universal Church, the spiritual body of Christ, and the local Church, consisting of believers baptized on a credible profession of faith. The Church exists to worship, serve, fellowship, and share the Gospel with the world.

(Matthew 16:18; Matthew 18:15-17; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18)

VIII. Personal Conduct

We believe Christians are called to live for God’s glory and the well-being of others, with blameless conduct, faithful stewardship, and a pursuit of maturity in Christ.

(John 17:13-18; Romans 12:1-2; Philippians 2:12-16; Ephesians 1:4; Ephesians 4:21-24; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Corinthians 10:31; James 1:22-25)

IX. Two Ordinances

We believe Christ instituted two ordinances for the Church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is by immersion in water in the name of the triune God. The Lord’s Supper commemorates Christ’s death. Both are to be observed until His return.

(Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:1-4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28; Colossians 2:12)

X. Religious Liberty

We believe every person has access to God through Christ and is accountable only to Him in matters of faith. The Church is independent and free from external control; Church and State have separate functions.

(John 8:31-36; Galatians 5:1; 1 Timothy 2:5)

XI. Cooperation

We believe local churches can best advance Christ’s cause by cooperating with one another voluntarily in denominational or interdenominational organizations. Such partnerships are independent and may be ended at any time.

(Psalm 133:1; 1 Corinthians 12:13-14; Galatians 6:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15)

XII. End Times

We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ, the resurrection of the body, final judgment, eternal joy for the righteous, and endless punishment for the wicked.

(Isaiah 11:4-6; Daniel 9:23-27; Matthew 24:3-31; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Revelation 4-5:8-13; 21:1-5; 22:12-15)
